Cat in her cave

Pebble in the bookcase

Looking her most Michaelish, Pebble managed to squeeze herself into an empty space in the shelves by my desk.

She's lovely. Is she getting on a bit? Spooks, my baby, who lived to the ripe old age of 22 was a grey tabby and his eyes developed brown pigmentation spots, similar to Pebble's when he got older.

Picture of Spookie when he was about 18.

She's 12 or 13 (which makes the Jeffster 13 or 14). The spots have been then there for a long time now - since she went through a bout or two of severe illnesses when she first came here.

Oh, so not that old then (nowadays they live longer and longer).
She's very pretty.

But then Spooks was a chocolate-box cat, very photogenic, what you can't see are the ears scarred from all the fighting and the bald spots from the abscesses, also from beating the snot out of anything with fur. And the fang missing when he crunched down on someone's shoulder blade during a fight. He really was a scrapper, he had his last really big fight with Ugly Cat when I moved here. He was 20 and he limped for a week but boy, was he cock of the hill for holding his own.
