And Alibris Scores!

Finally, a copy of The Mysterious Greatwood, the book I have been searching for for years...

Albris looks like a rather useful aggregator for second hand books.

Rar!

A number of my Amazon Marketplace purchases have come from Alibris. They're very quick and efficient.

What is it about the book that so captivated you?

Good question - I think it was the world building, and the fact that the world was illustrated as if it was a naturalist sketchbook.

The plot of the story involves two badgers from the last wood in England crossing the country with and old naturalist, while they try to escape the new animals that have replaced the ones we know. The new animals look like rubbish - so Great Water Bottles, Boxes, Dice, Steer, Marbles (with the Queen), and the like...

The author is a professional naturalist.

I find Alibris much more reliable and efficient than Advanced Book Exchange. Plus if something does go wrong and an order goes astray they give you an immediate cash refund without any problems. The only problem is I tend to spend too much money buying books from them!

I've almost always had a good experience with Alibris. At one point searching through them turned up a rather rare, out-of-print Gestalt book for me, at an affordable price too!
