I'll show it to Alexi, he and Ivan are old hands at customising minifigs for their movies. Can you give me a link to the original image that the minifig model is based upon?

Tally ho!

In fact, I think they already have a jet-black mini-fig that they used for the effect of a shadow coming to life in one of their films

Cute, maybe
but I'm sure Lego won't be too chuffed that someone is using their figures to make themselves $17 a throw... this does look like a lawsuit ready to happen...

Well, I don't think Lego have added an EULA to their boxes as yet so they'd be pissing in the wind. They didn't sue the guy who made Concentration Camp Lego and he used their logo.

Ah, but was he selling the figures as 'hand-made' with a different name, when it's quite obvious that it's a Lego figure painted black? Art is one thing, but commercialism on the back of someone else's idea feels like something else entirely. Yes, they're cute, and they're clever, but the fact remains they're Lego that somebody sprayed black... :D
