Chandra Wackybacky at it again? Thought he'd given up this sort of thing when Fred Hoyle snuffed it and he couldn't get anyone else to take his version of germs from outer space seriously.

The real astronomers at Cardiff, where I used to work, call him Whacy Whicky, and have to spend days in damage limitation when he comes out with one of these things.

This guy is an annoying loon, much worse than Fred ever was. At least Fred did some useful and correct stuff in his life. I don't think Wacky has made a single positive contribution to science.

And if there are such things as these 'stealth' comets out there, whether they reflect light or not doesn't matter since there are plenty of infrared telescopes around at the moment - be it the orbiting ones like Planck, and Herschel, which I'm working on, or the ones on the ground, all of which have been and will be looking for infrared sources form within the solar system as part of their mission.
