A busy weekend...

It's been a busy few days at the East Putney Museum of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Comic Art...

Friday I spent running around getting the little black sports car serviced and MOTed. A hot and tired elinor turned up late afternoon, and she, marypcb and I went along to see "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" at the National Theatre. All I can say is - if you're in London and you haven't been yet: go at once! It's a must see. David Schneider is excellent, as are the rest of the cast, and there's a wonderful version of "Everybody Ought To Have A Maid".
Everybody ought to have a maid!
Someone who'll be busy as a bumblebee
And even if you grumble, be
As graceful as a grouse!

Yesterday I spent a long time queuing at Wandsworth Town Hall to renew my parking permit. Once the last of the yearly motoring deeds had been done, marypcb and I went along to ladymoonray and zoo_music_girl's picnic in Greenwich Park. Much nattering under a spreading in the sun with various folk including the delightful tamaranth and the erudite pairing of childeric and swisstone (and too many others to namecheck)...

We then drove through the setting sun to the Chilterns and the home of CDC (WINOLJ - though he provides DSL and hosting for quite a few LJ folk I know!), for his annual chilli party. Not as much of a turn out as previous years, but much fun was had by all - even a surprisingly early lproven! It was good catching up with ramtops and perlmonger, as well as mindygoth and beermat - and CDC's swimming pool...

Today I took marypcb to the airport for her trip to Seattle and Redmond. I waved her through security, and then headed home. The house feels strangely empty now, so I have been filling time by reworking chunks of the house network, setting up Froglet, my new tablet PC, and getting a rather nifty Xerox Phaser colour printer up and working (including printing out and framing a few small photos).

It's bloody hot here in the office. I may take Froglet up on the roof...
