Parrots on the patio redux

The number of parrots in London is rising at 30% per year. No wonder I've seen several pairs so far this year around the leafy streets of Putney.

Perhaps we'll soon be feeding the parakeets in Trafalgar Square!

Hee hee! Now we all need is for the number of pirates in London to rise by 30%, and the ecosystem will be all correct and well balanced! ;^)

First couple I saw I assumed that they'd escaped from somewhere, then someone mentioned the growing feral population.

Okay - a smarter bird moving into Britain, and as I recall one that can cope with quite a lot of different foods. Could make an interesting disaster movie plot, I suppose...

Bill Oddie did a mini documentary abou the feral flock on Britain goes wild (or what ever it was called) the other week but I cannot find anything about it on the bbc website about said programme...
