Samantha should have intervened...

...in the game of Morning Crescent in the latest edition of ISIHAC.

Humph made them play inside the London Congestion Charging Zone, to make things easier for Ross Noble's first game. But (and this is a big but!) Mornington Crescent is outside the zone. So there is no way they could have played it at all!

The game should never have ended...

I am apalled at such lax rule following. How can we expect the tenets of Mornington Crescent to be upheld when such terrible perversions are allowed to pass unpunished.

One trusts that you have already penned your letter to the Daily Telegraph? :@)

Actually I have written to the only person who can make a difference.

Mrs Trellis. Of North Wales.

I think you will find Mornington Crescent wherever you search for it.

Must dash, I'm off to give the postman one to fill his sack.

But it was the first-timer Ross Noble who called "Mornington Crescent" and ended the game, and not any of the seasoned players. Obviously here is a James T. Kirk for our times, who knows just what to do with a Kobayashi Maru scenario.

But do we want such types in our glorious game?

The rules are meant to be bent, not smashed! Now, if he had offered a reverse-Excelsior and a Left Bank Diagonal Diversion, then we'd have been happy - but he didn't. And that's that...
