The Great Blackout Of 2003 (Part 2)...

...hit London this evening. Or at least parts of it. We only lost power in Putney for 30 minutes, but I know other areas were out for much longer. Unfortunately for Londoners it is a cold and wet night, so no chance for spontaneous parties for all those trapped on stalled trains and in the Tube...

Looks like I got out of London just in time this evening -- 17:57 from Victoria to Mitcham Junction. Croydon was unaffected.

Well, if you could just get the rain to waft gently in the direction of Cambridge, we'd gladly take it off your hands.

Either the Piccadilly area wasn't affected or my UPS lasted long enough:

  9:48pm up 41 day(s), 9:04, 4 users, load average: 0.11, 0.10, 0.10

But Simon, what is the point of having the whole Tube (or near enough) close right down if you're just going to sit it out comfortably at home? I dunno, the decay of modern civilisation is wasted on people like you, really it is...
