What book(s) are you reading, currently?
Currently I'm reading Jasper Fforde's latest Thursday Next book, The Well Of Lost Plots, alongside China Mieville's The Scar.
What music is playing? What other sounds can you hear?
I'm running a random playlist off the MP3 server. So there's all sorts that pops up. As I type it's playing some Ibiza trance, but it'll be something different by the time I post this... I can also hear fans, and the sound of jet planes taking off from Heathrow, and helicopters going down the river.
Look at the screen in front of you. What apps have you got open? What's running in the background?
Outlook for mail, Trillian for IM, Firebird for the web, and Semagic to fill in this LJ entry. In the background, it's the usual pile of things...
What was the last thing you ate? Drank?
Pret Pastrami sandwich, followed by Pret Chocolate Fudge Cake. I've been drinking water and nibbling cashews all afternoon.
What are you wearing?
Where are you? At work, at home? What room are you in?
I'm at home, in the office.
What are you meant to be doing?
Writing an article on some Java XML tools. But I'm too hot.
Sniff! Sniff! What can you smell?
Someone has lit a barbeque.
Who was the last person you spoke to in person? On the phone? Online? How long ago was it?
The last person I spoke to in person was the courier who picked up a phone that was being sent to Bath for photography. That would have been 3ish. On the phone it would have been Macromedia's PR people. Online, well, I'm chatting in IRC with a whole crowd of people right now. Last person I'd commented to there was codepope.
What's the last thing you bought in a shop? Over the interweb?
Water. Ovver the interwebby thing it would have been some books and CDs. Or a Cat and Girl t-shirt.
Are you feeling ill or achy or otherwise not well?
Sunburnt. I am a boiled lobster.
Are you wearing any jewellery? A watch? Hair things? Makeup? Something else that is not clothes?
Are you sitting comfortably?
The chair here's OK. A bit sticky on the pseudo-leather in this weather tho'. I think I'd prefer an Aeron...
