Thinking about Singularities...

...they go both ways. Yes, we can read about our ancestors, thanks to the extended memories of media - but it's almost impossible to imagine being them.

So what would a transhuman or a posthuman think of us?

It was a thought on a bus, as I tried to put myself in the place of a character in a story I'm thinking about...

Depends on the media that is extended. Postulate a mind recorder ala Brainstorm, and you have a situation where the preserved media is the actual experience of being us. A human-n-g would be able to experience us. What they'd think of it would entirely depend on what made them a n-g-human.

The difference is that we're no cleverer than our ancestors...
