Snow Fox

Snow Fox

The name refere to the charcoal coloring of its fur. The gray and black fur mixed with the redder fur is normal for the red fox population on the mountain, and the colouration doesn't change from season to season.

There's a larger (but less atmospheric) picture of the fox here.

More details from some 1927 nature notes...

One for tanais and megadog I think...

More mountain wildlife...

A wonderful blue colour that stands out in the winter mountain landscapes. Look out over the hills and trees, and catch a flash of iridescent blue from the corner of your eye.
