I don't like being on my own...

...because I sit up late watching political pundits on TV and eating junk food and end up feeling completely blah the next morning... Tonight I will make myself a salad. I will go buy fresh ingredients from the Selfridges Food Hall. I will eat at a sensible time and get a good night's sleep.

Or at least that's the 10 am resolution...

Read These

Lying in bed last night, I finished reading Warren Ellis' Come in Alone, his book of essays from the CBR web site, and I realised that I was most intrigued by the "Instructions" at the end of each essay, listing books, records and online resources. It made me think of the main thing I want to do with this LiveJournal - share stuff that I think is worth sharing with the world...

So, time to share some more...

The Hugo short list stories are pretty much all on-line now. And here are two from Asimov's that I think you really should read. They're pushing the singularity meme from different directions, and in interesting ways. The first is Charlie Stross' Lobsters, and the second is Michael Swanwick's The Dog Said Bow-wow. Enjoy.
