Neat RSS tricks for LiveJournal

LJ is good at handling RSS internally - however it's not so good at producing an RSS feed from your entries, or letting you feed your friends page into tools like Syndirella. However, the folllowing two LJ styles go some way to fixing that...

An RSS feed of your Friends view, suitable for use in any desk top aggregators you use:
http://www.livejournal.com/customview.cgi?user=(fill-in your LJ name here)&styleid=57252

An RSS version of your journal - with content:
http://www.livejournal.com/customview.cgi?user=(fill-in your LJ name here)&styleid=90448

(Note - these will only display unprotected entries, unless your RSS client has access to your own cookies...)
(Thanks, codepope for tracking these styles down)

Doesn't appear to work with non-paid accounts:

Will it work with friends groups? Not many of my friends are on my default view friends page - most are on my 7 or 8 other friends groups...
And a number of my friends have friends only journals...

Re:
Not sure - it definitely doesn't work with protected entries from most of the aggregators I use - and I've never set up a friends group. I'd guess that if you can apply a style to a friends group view you can use this technique...

Yes, provided it's a public friends group. I think that you just put ?groupname at the end of the url, but not sure - have a look at some of the style mod communities if that doesn't work.

Re:
Oh, I know about that - you can see a feed of it on SandM - but this gives you full content feeds rather than the URI in the default RSS feed - nicer for use with desktop aggregators.

I've changed all the feeds I had in NetNewsWire to use the content feed.... lovely jubbly.

I can live without protected entries.

Now to try a friends group.
