Not surprising folks working on ARM servers want plug compatibility (is that word spelled right or is "atab/atib" a British/American English thing?). They're levering these into existing data centre infrastructure so they'll use conventional storage and memory devices and talk TCP/IP over standard fibre and copper Ethernet. Software compatibility means management tools will be silicon-agnostic and cloud infrastructure needs good management out of the box.
