Faking it (again)

You know how it is: you spend weeks working on something new, hoping that no one is going to find out that you're faking it, and worried that the trust that everyone's put in you is completely misplaced, that you're an imposter who doesn't deserve the opportunities that you have.

And then, suddenly, you hit a problem with what your doing, and you think it through and find a solution based on everything you've been doing up to now, and then you realise you weren't faking it after all, that you do actually know what you're doing.

And you realise that it wasn't the first time that's happened to you either...

My life is turning into Channel 4.

And then, with new confidence, you take on some trickier things.... You soon get that faking it feeling, but heck, you're faking it better than anyone else you work with. At some point the trickier stuff will click, and you'll move onto faking it at a different level.

remember hon, the only people who don't worry about getting found out for not knowing as much as everyone thinks they know, are the people who don't know that they don't know everything
