Glazier on call

marypcb and I heard a news broadcast about yesterday's Shuttle launch with a description of the new cupola module as "some big windows".

"Ah," she said, "So they can get glaziers to go out that far on a Sunday in Florida. You'd never get that in Putney..."

Y'know? She's right. Customer service just isn't there these days...

We heard that the shuttle was carrying observation windows for the robots working on the outside of the space station. Because obviously it's important that your workforce don't feel claustrophobic...

I think it was the BBC that reported the shuttle load as including a bay window for the ISS. I thought hmm, maybe they could add a nice porch too, just in case they, like, get visitors coming round.

Sure, if you think the LGM would be impressed by that!

Everyone likes net curtains. I understand the shuttle is also carrying flower lace doilies and hand embroidered anti-macassars for the sofas that were delivered by the Russians last month. Apparently DFS had a great sale...

we want it to impress them so much they come round for afternoon tea and don't the neighbours always call after they see the net curtains twitching?
